Do we need a [philosophy] tag?
There's currently a philosophy tag, which came to my attention because it was used to tag one obviously off-topic question.
The other question it currently tags is also off-topic in my opinion, though the consensus is less clear.
Is 'philosophy' a reasonable tag to have here? It seems to me it will invite opinion-based questions, or be so broad as to be useless (most scifi touches on some philosophical issues; what is someone looking to read/answer "philosophical" questions really looking to filter out?).

What are we waiting on to create individual movie tags for the Matrix movies?
All the latest questions about The Matrix aren't about The Matrix, or even about The Matrix Reloaded or The Matrix Revolutions. They're all about The Matrix Resurrections.
Isn't the purpose of tags to help us see questions we're interested in and avoid questions we're not?
What do we need to do to get a reasonable set of tags? E.g.:
matrix-series
the-matrix
the-matrix-reloaded
the-matrix-revolutions
the-matrix-resurrections

How to close a chat room opened by mistake in the Physics site in order to open one here?
I wanted to keep discussing with the person who answered one of my questions.
I looked at the way to open a chat room, but though I was indeed at the bottom of a SciFi page, the chat room opened as "Physics". And now that I want to open it here (I mean here SciFi, not Meta-SciFi), the systme tells me a chat room of that name already exists.
Please help me delete the one there and open one here...

How fast should we be about VTC for off-topicness?
This is not the first time I've thought about this, but this question reminded me.
It's closed as off-topic because it doesn't seem to have scifi or fantasy elements (something I agree with). However, it was asked a mere 3 hours ago, at the time of writing this.
However, it's usual that people ask a question, then only come back to reply to comments or edit their questions after many hours, sometimes a day. So asking someone "what scifi elements are there to this question?", then a bunch of us voting to close within 3 hours seems a bit hasty to me. Now, if they were scifi elements, after the asker comes back and edits it, the question has to go through the reopen process.
Obviously we cannot wait forever, but does it make sense to add an arbitrary waiting period of at least 1 day before VTC?
Note: this is not about this specific question, it's just an example that sparked this thought.

List of bounties with no deadlines
I like the list of "bounties with no deadline (which is based on Puzzling and Code Golf equivalents) on Literature, so I am stealing it with attribution; this is almost completely copied and pasted from the other site.
This is a list of unofficial, deadline-less (hence not searchable) bounties offered by users on various challenges on the main site.
The list need not be limited to questions that already have an answer. You can offer bounties both for your own questions and for other people's questions.
Disclaimer: There is no guarantee that the user will award the bounty for you in case you fulfil its requirement. Especially if the user isn't an active member anymore. The only guarantee is their written word.
Guidelines for updating
To add a bounty, create an answer that contains a link to the question that needs a (better) answer and the bounty you are willing to award.
Answers can be sorted to see which bounties are newest.
Please comment on answers if you notice that there’s been a good answer to the question in question for a while that the bountier apparently hasn’t seen.
If a bounty is awarded, delete the meta answer.

RIP Harris Yulin
Harris Yulin, who had a very long career in stage, television, and film, died June 10 at the age of 87. While never an A-list star, he had many memorable roles, including playing the judge in Ghostbusters II, the head of the council of watchers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and a Cardassian dissident in one of the finest episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

RIP Peter David, 1956-2025
Peter David (Wikipedia) passed away May 24, 2025. The author of dozens of movie and TV show novelizations and tie-ins (including more than 40 Star Trek novels), I remember him best for 1987's Knight Life, one of the few humorous fantasy novels, other than Discworld, that I recall from my childhood.

Prentis Hancock, RIP (SPACE:1999, Doctor Who, others)
Scottish character actor Prentis Hancock passed away on May 30th. Though he was perhaps best known in the genre for his role as Paul Morrow on the 70’s sci-fi series SPACE:1999, Hancock appeared in a number of other science fiction and fantasy programs. Prominent among these was no less than 14 appearances on Doctor Who during the Pertwee and Baker eras, including the classic Planet of the Daleks and The Ribos Operation serials.
Additionally, Hancock appeared on the post-apocalyptic series Survivors and in two of the much lighter themed Chocky’s series.
Outside the sci/fi and fantasy genre, Hancock appeared on a wide variety of British television programs of the 1970s and 1980s including as a regular on the early 70’s show Spy Trap.

Quoting automatically generated plot summaries from other sites
In my answer to this story-id question I quote a plot summary from Project Gutenberg. From my recollection of the story the summary is pretty accurate, however, Project Gutenberg plot summaries are "automatically generated".
In September 2024, automatically-generated summaries were added for
most books. New books will get summaries approximately monthly
